Our Sacred Valley tour from Ollantaytambo to Cusco begins with a pick-up from your hotel. Our first stop is Ollantaytambo, where we’ll explore the religious sector, including the Sun Temple and the water fountains. These Inca ruins are truly incredible, showcasing the advanced engineering and architectural skills of the ancient civilization.
Next, we’ll drive to the salt ponds, where you’ll witness over 3000 salt pools that have been used by local people since Inca times. The salt harvested here is renowned for its quality and is considered among the best in the world.
After the salt ponds, we’ll visit the circular terraces of Moray ruins. Here, you’ll see four impressive circular terraces, each smaller than the last, which were used by the Incas for agricultural experiments. The irrigation system and microclimates created by these terraces allowed the Incas to grow a variety of crops.
Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at Chinchero, where we’ll explore more Inca terraces and visit the colonial temple with its stunning paintings. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit a weaving center to learn about the traditional weaving process of alpaca clothes, a skill that has been passed down since Inca times.
Chinchero town is a living example of the rich cultural heritage of Peru, and you’ll have a chance to immerse yourself in its history and traditions.
